Established in 1967, Weber Murphy Fox (WMF) is very different than most professional design firms. Throughout our history we have evolved to accommodate the needs of our clients. Often this change is initiated as a direct response to discussions with our clients. Who we are today and the services we offer have been developed to meet the needs of our clients, as expressed by our clients. Our objective is to become a valued advisor to our clients.

Our ability to grow from a small generalist firm to a regional firm with several specialized studios is the result of one simple maxim."to bring value we must first understand what is important to our clients and then in everything we do ensure that we deliver what is important".

Most firms believe that they truly have their client's best interest at heart. Unfortunately, for most this is a belief...not a reality. It becomes reality when the architect develops a true understanding of why a project is being initiated. Understanding occurs when we engage in meaningful dialogue with the purpose of knowing your business, objective, and vision. Before we even think about concept we ask questions...and listen. We discuss the positive impact on your business or organizational goals that you wish to achieve. This discussion allows us to align our approach with your goals to establish a way to measure our performance throughout the project. Periodically, we jointly revisit the original goals and test our approach to ensure that we are still in alignment. It is the constant alignment of our design approach with your goals that has allowed us to bring real value to our clients.

Design Philosophy

Weber Murphy Fox believes the primary purpose of architecture is to create environments that satisfy the physical, psychological and emotional needs of human individuals and maximize the effectiveness of group activities – designed environments that enhance and make more meaningful the activities they house.  Intensive programming, an in-depth understanding of our client, and a thorough investigation of a building site's unique opportunities and constraints, provide the basis for innovative design solutions.
WMF has a strong reputation for excellence in design and has received numerous honors and design recognition from the American Institute of Architects, from municipalities, business organizations, and design publications.

Construction Philosophy

Construction is the physical application of the design process.  It is meant to create a tangible expression of your vision, while meeting your specific needs.  Meeting project schedules, meeting project budgets, and efficiently resolving field conflict is what drives our construction professionals. WMF believes “because we are architects we are better builders” and “because we are builders we are better architects”.
