The REDC project is designed as the “signature building” on the Behrend Campus. Situated on Campus at a location, which will soon become the 100% corner, the 150,000 sq. ft. building occupies a prominent hillside site and will increase the Campus classroom and laboratory space by fifty percent.

The program space includes state of the art facilities for the School of Engineering & Engineering Technology and the School of Business including classrooms, faculty offices, teaching labs, research labs & support spaces. The building layout facilitates and enhances the interaction and collaboration desired between the two schools, particularly with the use of a cyber cafÈ at the intersection of the two schools.

The building also provides “up the slope” circulation with 24/7 access between the lower level of Campus and the upper level of Campus.

The REDC is designed to serve as a symbolic and functional link to Knowledge Park, a partnering initiative between the College and private industry at the South edge of Campus. The building will act as a point of contact with Knowledge Park and various businesses or outreach programs for research activities and workforce training activities.
