The City of Erie was awarded a grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to construct a new minor league baseball park.

Weber Murphy Fox was selected by the City of Erie to provide fast track design/build services for the stadium. Design work began in April and the first game was played in June...14 months later.

The project provides a stadium designed to AA standards. There is seating for 6,000, six skyboxes and a menu of amenities unusual for a minor league ballpark, including a raised section with concessions underneath which allows viewing of the game from the concessions area. In addition to the ballpark itself, the project involved numerous improvements to the adjacent Civic Center building, including new hockey offices and suites, an attached storage building and clubhouse facility that can be used for hockey and celebrity performers in addition to its primary baseball usage.

National baseball officials have called the Erie ballpark one of the finest minor league facilities in the country. The ballpark immediately set attendance records in the New York-Penn League upon opening and has become a major part of Erie’s downtown rejuvenation.
