This 140,000 sq. ft. Cultural Center consists of three separate elements in an integrated facility with four separate clients-the County of Erie, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the Erie County Technical Institute and the Erie Northwestern PA Port Authority. The project includes a 90,000 sq. ft. central County Library, a 40,000 sq. ft. Museum and new basin for the reconstructed Flagship Niagara, office facilities for the Erie County Technical Institute and a public auditorium and performance space with a capacity of 300 persons.
This project will serve as a public anchor for a surrounding private development project with hotels, residences, shops and commercial space.
Weber Murphy Fox provided full Architectural and Engineering services, master planning for the site and detailed design of the adjacent public park spaces.
The project also involved restoration and new construction, interior design, theater design, planning and landscape architecture. It highlights Weber Murphy Fox’s ability to provide innovative design solutions for large, multi-faceted, multi-client projects. |
